Ni Fan grew up in a musical family in Peking, China. She got her first piano lessons at the age of four and started additional percussion lessons at the age of ten. From 2001 to 2007 she studied percussion at the 'Central Conservatory of Music' in Peking as a young student. Subsequently she did her bachelor degree studies with prof. Li Biao, which she graduated early with honors.

Lukas Böhm began studying at the 'Hanns Eisler' Academy of Music Berlin while he was doing his Abitur at the Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach boarding school. After graduating early with honors, he is now completing his studies as a scholar of the Berlin Philharmonics' Karajan Academy with Jan Schlichte as well as a post graduate student at the 'Hanns Eisler' Academy of Music with Li Biao, Franz Schindlbeck, Rainer Seegers and Jonathan Aner together with his duo partner Ni Fan – as the first percussion ensemble world wide in chamber music.
